Gwyneth Paltrow is on the warpath, but it’s not carbs or that space where her thighs used to meet that she’s fighting against — it’s one of the publishing industry’s biggest powerhouses.
RadarOnline.com reports that the actress is taking aim at Vanity Fair magazine in preparation for a hit piece the storied publication is planning to run, which will allegedly expose some of the star’s dirtiest secrets.
Despite Gwyneth’s best efforts to keep it from running, the tell-all piece will reportedly delve into controversies including her rumored affair with billionaire hotelier Jeff Soffer (a claim she categorically denies).
So what’s a GOOPy girl to do? Start a smear campaign of her own!
A source claims that Gwyneth is firing back by trying to destroy the magazine’s reputation, having “notably stepped up” her efforts to tarnish the publication and keep them from working with members of the Hollywood elite. While Gwyneth’s efforts have allegedly worked on some pals, including George Clooney, others remain hesitant.
Her desperate-seeming pitch may not have helped her case. When rumors of the piece about her first emerged, Gwyneth reportedly sent a letter to friends, begging, “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”
However, some stars, including Julia Roberts, are sticking by the iconic magazine and its editor-in-chief, Graydon Carter.
“[Julia] is ignoring Gwyneth, has no problem with Graydon and is happily still committed to appear on the cover of that issue,” claims the source, adding that Gwyneth’s unsavory request “has probably ended any chance of a friendship between the two of them.”
