Original story (7/11/2017 at 10:30 a.m. ET):
This incident is probably not making Haley Reinhart feel like singing.
The former American Idol contestant was arrested for punching a bouncer in the head.
The event took place in the early hours of July 8.
According to TMZ, the singer was arrested at the Lamplighter Inn in Chicago.
The cops showed up around 2 AM after bouncers tossed Haley and her friends out of the pub for knocking over a table.
The officers witnessed Haley hit a bouncer with a closed fist.
She was taken into custody by the police and booked for battery.
"The bouncers assaulted Haley without provocation," the performer's attorney told TMZ.
"After forcefully removing [Haley] they violently beat her friend, who sustained multiple injuries. We believe that she will be exonerated of all charges once the investigation is completed."
Haley's lawyer said she plans to take legal action against the bar and the staff for the incident.
There is a court date for the assault scheduled for August 2.
Haley placed third on Season 10 of American Idol.
She found her way into voice acting as well and currently stars on the Netflix show F Is for Family.
