Halle Berry Ordered to Pay $16,000 a Month in Child Support to Gabriel Aubry (VIDEO)
Halle Berry may now find herself a little lighter in the pockets these days. The child support bill has officially come in, and it’s a big one.
According to Newsday, on May 30 a Los Angeles court ordered Halle to pay $16,000 a month to her ex, Gabriel Aubry, for the care of her 6-year-old daughter, Nahla. These monthly payments remain in effect until Nahla turns 19 or graduates high school, and Halle also owes Gabriel $115,000 in past child support… and $300,000 in legal fees. Yikes!
The ruling also states that Halle and Gabriel, who share custody of Nahla, are to split any medical expenses Nahla may incur, and Halle will pay for Nahla’s school tuition.
Halle and Gabriel’s history is definitely a storied one, though. After four years of dating, the couple split in 2010, and in 2012, a new custody agreement granting the parents equal custody of their daughter was created.
Also in 2012? The famous Thanksgiving Day brawl between Gabriel and Halle’s now-husband Olivier Martinez led Halle to file for a restraining order from Nahla’s dad, but it was quickly dropped when the trio managed to reconcile. Reportedly, Olivier and Gabriel’s smackdown was because Gabriel refused to consent to Halle and Olivier moving his daughter to France with them.
Hopefully Nahla’s home life has settled down a bit since then, though! If not, that child support check can buy her a lot of Barbies… or, better yet, one awesome college education.
