Pretty Little Liars Halloween Episode: Ali In a Red Coat — What Does It Mean?! (PHOTO)

The Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Halloween episode promises to give some real answers, especially about Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). All signs point to the original queen bee being less dead and more Red Coat than the Liars once imagined, and a new sneak peek photo from the episode seems to confirm that — or does it?

As you can see, the photo above seems to show Ali. In a red coat. In Ravenswood. We repeat: Ali in a red coat in Ravenswood! Is this photographic proof that Grunwald's story is real? There's nothing we want more, but we find it hard to believe that ABC would release definitive proof to one of the show's biggest mysteries in a set of sneak peek photos. So, what else could this photo mean? We speculate on some of the possibilities.

It really is Ali! In the present! As we said, this seems like the obvious answer, and we hope it's true. But would we really see the photo this early?

It's someone in an Ali mask. That doesn't look like a mask to us, and the photo is captioned "Sasha Pieterse," but it's always possible this shot will turn out to be from another mask sequence. Maybe it's another situation where one of the Liars thinks she sees Ali (and therefore the shot from the Liar's POV uses Sasha Pieterse), but we, the audience, can't be sure it's really her.

It's a flashback. Maybe Grunwald, or someone else from Ravenswood, tells the Liars about a time when Ali was spotted wandering around in Ravenswood before she disappeared. It wouldn't be the the oddest thing Ali ever did.

It's a dream. We could totally see one of the Liars dreaming of Ali. Though we’re not sure when they would have time to sleep...

It's Ali's twin. The writers have said they aren't exploring the twin theory on the show, but what if that's just a mislead? If Red Coat did turn out to be Ali's twin, that would mean this photo doesn't give everything away, even while showing that someone who looks like Ali is alive.

What do you make of this photo? Sound off in the comments below!
