Grey’s Anatomy’s Halloween Episode Is One of Shonda Rhimes’s “Favorite Episodes Ever”

We have new reason to have faith in this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 7: "Thriller" — it's just gotten high praise from the the mastermind of the show, creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

"This week's Halloween episode of Grey's Anatomy is one of my favorite episodes ever!" the 43-year-old tweeted today, October 29.

We gotta say, we've been naysayers about this episode ever since we heard that it will feature zombies and werewolves. The promo that aired on October 24 didn't exactly instill much confidence either. The whole affair struck us as a little corny — and, much as we love Halloween, we believe that not all episodes airing on October 31 need to be spooktastic.

But, if Shonda speaks so highly of it, perhaps it'll make the tired idea of a Halloween novelty episode a little more novel!

The installment is directed by Cherie Nowlan, who also helmed Season 9, Episode 11: "The Beginning Is The End Is the Beginning”. Executive story editor Gabriel LLanas — who has also written for two other Shondaland shows, Private Practice and Off the Map — penned the script.

What do you think, people? Do you believe in the power of Shonda? Or is she just hyping what promises to be a dud episode?
