Jessica was born on August 8, 1976, in Columbia, Missouri — the daughter of Kate and Robert Capshaw. Mama Capshaw later became a famous actress, best-known for her role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and then married famed director Steven Spielberg.
Jessica went on to graduate from Brown University and study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts before landing roles in Valentine and Minority Report and then becoming a full-time cast member of The Practice (alongside future Grey's Anatomy co-star Chyler Leigh).
Meanwhile, Kevin was born on August 9, 1973 — to Kathleen and Neil McKidd — in the town of Elgin in northeast Scotland. As a young man, he studied engineering at the University of Edinburgh before switching gears and studying drama at Queen Margaret College. His first major role came with 1996's Danny Boyle film Trainspotting, but he really became famous after starring in the TV series Rome and Journeyman.
Now, luckily for us fans, both Jessica and Kevin are fully ensconced with the Grey's family. Hope the cast and crew get to nosh on two extravagant and frosting-loaded cakes this time!
