Harry Potter Spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” Will Be a Trilogy (VIDEO)

Good news, Harry Potter fans: the big screen adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is officially set to be a trilogy, according to The New York Times!

The movies — penned by J.K. herself — will take us back seven decades before Harry and his friends even existed to introduce us to Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who wrote one of Hogwarts’ most notable textbooks… which was released in 2001 so we muggles could study independently of our favorite school for wizards.

Who do we thank for three more movies that will allow us to keep living vicariously in the wizarding universe? Warner Brothers CEO Kevin Tsujihara, who J.K. claims is 100% responsible for the new franchise.

“When I say he made Fantastic Beasts happen, it isn’t PR speak but the literal truth,” J.K. says. “We had one dinner, a follow-up telephone call, and then I got out the rough draft that I’d thought was going to be an interesting bit of memorabilia for my kids and start writing!”

While we’re bummed we won’t get to see Harry, Ron, and Hermione back in action, we’re excited to see an extension of the magical world we’ve already fallen in love with coming back to life.
