Harry Shum Jr. Joins Cast of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Sequel!
With all of the casting news we’ve been reporting about various Glee stars in recent weeks you’d almost forget that there’s still one final season of the FOX show to film, but we’re glad everyone seems to be beefing up their resumes. The latest Glee star to join another project is none other than Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), who just landed a role in the highly-anticipated Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel directed by Woo-ping Yuen. Read on for more details.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Harry will be playing Tie-Fang, one of the movie’s lead roles. The sequel, which began production this week and is expected to shoot in China and New Zealand, will take place some 20 years after the events on the first film. THR notes that the movie “revolves around four heroes of the martial arts world — Silent Wolf, Yu Shu-lien, Tie-Fang and Snow Vase — who must use their courage and skills to keep the legendary sword Green Destiny from the hands of the villainous Hades Dai.”
Donnie Yen will star alongside Harry as Silent Wolf, and Michelle Yeoh is on board as Yu Shu-lien.
Harry’s had a productive summer so far, having recently wrapped Revenge of the Green Dragons, an immigrant drama in which he appears alongside Ray Liotta, and critiquing contestants as a judge on truTV’s Fake Off. Congrats on all of your success, Harry!
