Harry Shum Jr. to Join Fake Off Judging Panel?

Now that we know Glee is ending its run after six seasons next spring, it seems like every day we’re writing about new projects that the show’s past and present cast members have lined up. Lea Michele (Rachel) for example, hopes to release a second book, a follow-up album, and it certainly sounds like she’ll be starring in a Funny Girl revival when Ryan Murphy brings it back to Broadway. Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) will be appearing in a production of Hair at the Hollywood Bowl later this summer, and Kevin McHale (Artie) is set to start filming his new show, Virtually Famous, in London next month.

Another Glee star possibly joining a different show is Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang). On June 4 Harry posted a picture of what looks like his dressing room door on Instagram. The photo shows a door with a Fake Off sign and Harry’s name underneath it. Harry captioned the pic, “So excited to join the judging panel of ‘Fake Off’ and ready to be blown away by these talented performers!! #fakeoff #remixpopculture,” though the Instagram post has since been deleted.

We’re not sure why Harry deleted the post (maybe it was too soon for him to announce that he’ll be on the Fake Off judging panel) but from what we found out about Fake Off, it sounds like it’s right up his alley.

The show tapes in Atlanta and is described asthe most jaw-dropping reality competition you will EVER see.” It consists of ten teams who will use an “incredible mix of dancing, costume, illusion, theater, and acrobatics. The teams will compete in front of a live audience and three celebrity judges to recreate and reimagine iconic moments in pop culture. Each episode the judges will comment and score each act and the live studio audience will vote to determine which teams are safe and which team is eliminated. The competition all leads to an epic finale with the winning team receiving $100,000 and a performance showcase in Las Vegas!”

If Harry is, in fact, one of the celebrity judges, then we can’t wait to see which two other famous faces will be sitting alongside him.

Are you psyched for Harry’s (likely) new project? Tell us what you think below!
