The road to motherhood wasn’t easy for Hart of Dixie star Jaime King. It turns out, it took four years for her to get pregnant with her first child, James Knight, which made his birth all the more special.
Jaime and her director husband, Kyle Newman, welcomed their son into the world this past October, and he’s already gained a devoted following on mom and dad’s Instagram. Just look at those cheeks!
"This baby was a long time in the making and I feel like the universe put a little extra magic dust in him," the 35-year-old actress revealed to ABC News. "He's like the happiest, most joyful, social and loving [baby]."
"Everything takes on a new meaning," the former model gushed. "It took a long time to get pregnant — for me the baby was such a blessing that the most important thing for me was that I was active," she continued. "I was never obsessive about dieting or exercise. I didn't care how much I gained. I just wanted to make sure he was healthy."
As for work, Jaime returned to the set of Hart of Dixie just weeks after giving birth, bringing along a cute plus-one. “He's been on set with me every single day, always laughing and giggling and happy. He does a really good job of sleeping through the night, he's just an awesome child,” Jaime says.
“I'm always trying to set up a way he can be with me, that's why I bring him to set with me, I want him to know his mother's with him, because that's the way I was raised." Aww, how cute! We’re so happy to see Jaime take on motherhood, and from the looks of it, she’s a natural!
