Dianna Agron Headed to NBC’s Peter Pan Live? Not So Fast!
Dianna Agron (Quinn) is a talented singer and actress for sure, but is she planning on being part of the cast of NBC’s live telecast of Peter Pan, scheduled to air on the network on December 4?
The rumor mill was in overdrive late last week when Peter Pan Live! producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron tweeted Di, praising her for being so “talented” and “awesome,” but also noting that the 28-year-old — who has shot several movies in the past few months — has a very “busy” schedule.
Dianna was super thankful for all the compliments, and seemed to suggest that she wishes to collaborate with Craig and Neil in the future. “I feel like I am the lucky one. You're making me blush! One day. We will get to play.@craigzadan@neilmeron,” she replied. So far, Girls actress Allison Williams is on board to play Peter, Christopher Walken has been cast as Captain Hook, and Christian Boyle will portray Mr. Smee/Father Darling.
Even though casting for the project is still underway (and we think Dianna would make a great Tinkerbell) it doesn’t sound like our Glee gal is headed for Neverland. The folks over at E! Online did some digging and found out that, despite the Twitter lovefest, an NBC rep insists there is “no truth” to the rumors that Dianna is involved with Peter Pan Live!
Like Craig and Neil said, Dianna is a very busy gal and even though it’s clear she’s itching to work with the talented duo the lengthy time commitment may have prevented her from doing so this time around. As NBC president Bob Greenblatt has said, the actors and actresses involved in Peter Pan Live! need to be available from August 5 to December 5.
No additional casting announcements have been made yet, so it’s still possible that Dianna is headed to Peter Pan Live!, but we wouldn’t bet on it.
