Heather Dubrow Learns Someone Else Was Up For a Malibu Country Role

There’s a chill in the air when the Real Housewives of Orange County head to Canada in Season 8, Episode 14, “The Cold War.” In a new sneak peek, Heather Dubrow decides to talk to Gretchen Rossi about the role she was offered on Malibu Country, Reba McEntire’s sitcom.

Heather announces on the ride to the ski resort that she won’t be staying long. She has to fly back to LA at three in the morning to shoot her scenes. “I’m, like, so confused,” says Gretchen. “When are you doing that?” Heather explains that she already started — right before Tamra Barney’s dress fitting the previous week.

“So, Gretchen got a call, too,” Tamra interjects. “But it’s a different part,” Heather says. Then she goes on to add that the casting director told her they only called Gretchen to check her availability to do a couple lines on the show “but that part went away.”

This is news to Gretchen, who says she went to Tamra’s dress fitting instead of shooting the part.

“I made it to the table read of Malibu Country on Friday morning and had plenty of time to get to the dress shop,” Heather says in her confessional. “Actually, I was the first one to arrive. So, if Gretchen had been offered a role, as she said, she would’ve been able to do both without a problem.”

Heather is still skeptical of Gretchen’s story but insists it wasn’t the same role.

“Is that the Reba show?” Alexis Bellino asks suddenly. “They called my publicist role, too!”

Heather seems annoyed when she replies, “I know. It’s for a different part.”

In her confessional, Gretchen feels vindicated because Alexis chiming in proves she wasn’t lying about being offered the part.

So this is what it feels like to be friends with other (would-be) actresses!
