We have to admit, we were a little behind on our Here Comes Honey Boo Boo viewing this week, but something has come to our attention from last week that we simply can’t skip over. The TLC reality show — which, for some unknown reason isn’t getting as much media attention this season  — pulled out one of its strangest moments to date in the latest episode.

During a family trip to a safari park, Honey Boo Boo’s big sisters Pumpkin and Chubbs decided to gross everyone (re: their family, America) out by making out with a poor, unsuspecting giraffe. Yes, you read that correctly — the teenage girls thought that going tongue-to-tongue with a wild animal was a good idea!

“I bet Jessica she wouldn't tongue that giraffe,” details Pumpkin, 13, “and she bet me back, so we both had to do it.” But did you really?

Pumpkin is the first to make contact, enticing the animal to the window of the van with food. She sticks her tongue out the window and the giraffe rubs its tongue against hers. Not to be outdone, 16-year-old (!) Chubbs takes her turn with the creature. Eww!

Rightfully so, the rest of the family is mortified, making retching noises and squealing at their antics. “Chubbs has got a new boyfriend!” Mama June jokes. That’s one way to look at it. But Chubbs seems to be regretting her decision. “I don't recommend you kiss a giraffe...unless you're gettin' paid for it.” Ah well, lesson learned, we guess.

The best response has to be little Alana’s, however, who sweetly puts the animal’s needs above her rabblerousing sisters’: “I hope the giraffe didn't get sick from kissing my sisters,” she says.

Catch an all new episode of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo on Thursday night at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
