It’s about time Lizzie McGuire Hilary Duff was on the receiving end of some good news! Not only was the 26-year-old recently casted in the new sitcom pilot,Younger, this past January, but it looks like the show is finally heading to TV Land!
“Have to say woke up this morning and feel soo excited to be back on TV,” Hilary shared on Twitter. “Such exciting news [Younger]!! On [TV Land] got picked up!” Talk about a great way to start your morning.
So what is Younger all about? According to Deadline, the comedy sitcom will star ABC Family’s Bunheads alum Sutton Foster, who plays Liza, "a 40-something woman who reinvents herself and starts living a double life — one as a suburban mom and another as a 29-year old working girl in the city — after her husband leaves her and her child goes to college."
As for Hilary, she will star as the “smart ambitious” co-worker, Kelsey, who ends up befriending Liza. The only catch is Kelsey doesn’t realize that Liza is in fact much older than she claims to be. Can you already anticipate the drama and comedy?
As for the show’s fellow stars, Vulture dishes that Entourage’s Debi Mazar will play Liza’s best friend, who helps Liza with the full 29-year-old makeover, while The Good Wife’s Miriam Shor plays Liza and Kelsey’s tough boss. What’s more? Sex and the City creator Darren Star wrote the pilot and doubles as the show’s executive producer.
Stop it, you guys. Is this the Lizzie McGuire meets Sex and the City moment we’ve all been waiting for? We think yes.
