Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Who Is Stevie J.? 5 Things You Should Know

If there’s one “clever” guy on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, it’s definitely the super talented Stevie J. While you may not know who Stevie J. is, chances are you’ve probably heard a song that he’s written, produced, and/or received a Grammy for. These days he’s pretty notorious for his relationship with co-star, Miami stripper-turned-rapper, Joseline Hernandez, and baby mama/entrepreneur Mimi Faust, but here’s five things you should know about Stevie J.:

1. Stevie J. has worked with Sean “P.Diddy” combs — extensively

Stevie J. was one of the lead producers and writers for Bad Boy Entertainment in the early ‘90s. He has produced dozens of the songs for the artists on the Bad Boy label, including the late and great Notorious B.I.G. Stevie even won a Grammy award for producing the album No Way Out by Puff Daddy & The Family which features the song, “I’ll Be Missing You,” a tribute to Biggie after his death in 1997.

2. Stevie has worked with heavy hitters such as Mariah Carey and Beyonce Knowles

As we previously mentioned, if you don’t know Stevie, you definitely know a tune or two he’s worked on. Mariah Carey’s 1997 album Butterfly is filled to the brim with songs the Atlanta native produced, including the album's first single “Honey.” He’s even worked with Beyonce on the 2003 song “Summertime” for the Fighting Temptations movie soundtrack.

3. Stevie dated other ladies in music industry before he met Joseline

If you think Joseline is the only woman who Stevie J. has both worked and played with, then you’re wrong. Stevie J. was heavily involved with rapper/actress Eve back in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. Stevie even produced Eve’s smash hit “Let Me Blow Your Mind” featuring No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani. Their pretty public relationship took a turn for the worst when Eve caught Stevie and his on-again-off-again girlfriend/baby mama Mimi Faust in bed together. Yeah, that happened. Eve has gone on record saying that Stevie was in fact her first love, but that she looks at their rocky time together as a learning experience.

4. Stevie once dated the daughter of an Oscar-winning actress

Who knew that Stevie J. dated Alex Martin, aka The View host Whoopi Goldberg’s daughter? According to several outlets, Stevie J. and Alex were together for quite a while in the 2000s and it was rumored that the two were even engaged! According to Stevie J.’s rep, the relationship ended in 2007 and the couple have not seen each other since.

5. Stevie J is rumored to be shopping a spin-off!

Word on the street is that Stevie J and his new wife Joseline just might get their own spin-off from the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta show. Speculations came pouring in after Stevie posted a picture of his new wife surrounded by his many kiddos and captioned the photo "#TheJordans coming soon." Stevie has also told Hip Hop Weekly that fans may get to see him and Joseline marry on camera — either on LHHATL or a show of their own:

When the show permits, we'll do it on the show or something, or have our own show and have some kids on the show.” Who’s down for a Stevie and Joseline show? We know we’d definitely tune in!
