When we first met Chrissy Lampkin and her boyfriend Jim Jones on Season 1 of Love & Hip Hop, we learned very quickly that Jim’s mother, Nancy “Mama” Jones, was not a fan of Chrissy in the slightest. The two women often fussed and fought, but according to Chrissy, several seasons and a spin-off later, the two women in Jim’s life are actually starting to play nice.
“Actually, we’re in a good place,” Chrissy told Madame Noire in a recent interview. “I was saying before that people caught Nancy and I in a rough spot in our relationship, I mean it was ugly.”
And that it was. In Season 1 of Love & Hip Hop, Chrissy went so far as to call her future mother-in-law a “psychotic bitch.” Thankfully, the two ladies have learned to move past it.
“But it didn’t start there, you know?” Chrissy said of their relationship, “It started in a good place and we’re back there now with a different respect for one another.”
It’s good to hear that both Chrissy and Mama Jones have worked out their differences. As a matter of fact, on this season of Chrissy & Mr. Jones, Nancy enlists the help of her soon-to-be daughter-in-law to style the cover of her book! Now that’s what we like to see!
Are you surprised by Chrissy and Mama Jones sorting out their differences or do you think this is only a temporary truce? Sound off below!
Chrissy & Mr. Jones Season 2 airs Monday at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
