On May 20, Team Blake Shelton's singer Holly Tucker belted out the Christian hymn “How Great Thou Art” on The Voice 2013. Blake gave the country singer the gospel song as it brought Holly back to her roots.
Coach Usher felt that there was no bad way to perform a religious or gospel record. He did feel it was a departure from the singer he had grown accustomed to, but enjoyed it just nonetheless. Coach Shakira felt that it was heavenly and that Holly had mastered her instrument (her voice).
Adam enjoyed the “pristine beautiful quality” of her voice, while coach Blake Shelton found the song strangely appropriate given the recent tragedy in Oklahoma City. He believed that Holly showed a different side to vocals, and that she “turned it up” at a crucial time in the competition.
