We took one look into Roman’s (Matt Lanter) beautiful, crystal blue-gray eyes and we knew we were in love. Whoever at the CW decided to cast Matt as the leading man in their sci-fi romance series Star-Crossed, thank you. We are eternally grateful. The extent of our thanks is something we really don’t even know how to put into words.
The CW is known for casting ridiculously good-looking actors in lead roles, and that certainly holds true for Star-Crossed. Alien high schooler Roman and his human love interest Emery (Aimee Teegarden) are both out-of-this-world gorgeous. You likely already recognized lovely Aimee as Julie Taylor from Friday Night Lights. But what about Matt?
The 30-year-old hunk is perhaps best known for playing the role of rebellious teen heartthrob Liam on the CW’s 90210 for five seasons. But aside from the long-running remake, Matt’s had plenty of other roles.
Ohio-born Matt started off as a model, making his TV debut in 2004 on the Bravo reality show Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model. (Yes. That was the show’s actual name. No joke.) He’s had bit parts on Grey’s Anatomy, 8 Simple Rules, Big Love, and Heroes (he was the skeezy football player who attacked Claire).
Matt was also a series regular on ABC’s Commander in Chief, and starred opposite Francia Raisa in ABC Family’s figure skating movie The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream. He’s snagged the leading male role in a couple of parodies, including Disaster Movie and Vampires Suck (where he spoofed Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen... because, duh. Have you seen his beautiful face?)
And, if even the sound of his voice unleashes a flurry of butterflies in your stomach, Matt voices the role of Anakin Skywalker in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars… which is great and all, we support all his career moves fully. But we won’t lie... we’re pretty excited to have both Matt’s voice and dreamy face on our TV screens now that Star-Crossed has made its series premiere.
Star-Crossed airs Mondays at 8 p.m./7c on The CW.
