Update: As it turns out, Teri, lacking in parental affection from her militaristic mama Vega, forms a shaky alliance with Castor — although it appears he's deliberately manipulating her. After Teri plants a bug in Castor's house under her mom's command in Episode 11, "Give Me a Torch," Castor talks her up whenever he knows she can hear him, playing to her weaknesses. Eventually, this leads to Teri foiling a Trag assassination attempt on Castor, pulling him aside and tending to his wounds.
Castor's consorts (yeah, that kind of consort) joked about Teri joining up with them, and at the rate these two are going, that seems like a likely outcome. Teri's alliance with Castor won't likely be permanent (at least, we're hoping not), but we're getting a clearer picture about why these two are cuddling up. And it doesn't look good, whether Castor seduces Teri, or Teri's doing a long-con for the Iksen's Key.
Original Story, April 24:
As the series progresses, Teri (Chelsea Gilligan) gets more and more unstable. The daughter of Trag leader Vega, Teri has been actively involved in multiple violent acts — and her anti-human sentiments are only intensified by her ex-boyfriend Roman (Matt Lanter) dating Emery Whitehill (Aimee Teegarden).
Still, we were super-surprised to see a photo of Teri seemingly about to give a big ol' smooch to Roman's uncle Castor (Johnathan Schaech) in Episode 12: "This Trick May Chance to Scathe You." Not only is the conniving Atrian leader hated by everyone, Trag or no, she's 16 and he's at least twice her age. She may have an ulterior motive for the seduction, though — let's not forget that in Episode 10, "What Storm Is This That Blows So," she killed a guard on the Atrian ship by sticking her tongue in his mouth, dosing him with some poisonous herb. The episode synopsis for Episode 12 says she "continues her mission," so she could just be on Trag business and attempting to bypass Castor.
Then again, Castor's a master manipulator himself — and it appears that Roman rejects Teri again this episode. We guess drugging Roman and taking advantage of him, plus indirectly causing the Romery breakup, wasn't enough for her. Anyway, we wouldn't put it past her to come on to Castor as some way to make Roman upset, even if it does put her end-game in jeopardy.
Of course, we won't find out anything until after next week, when Episode 11, "Give Me a Torch," airs.
