"The Trags have a doomsday device," the trailer opens for Star-Crossed Episode 12: "This Trick May Chance to Scathe You" — and it's certainly proving to be the driving force of the last few Season 1 episodes. Pretty much the only people who want the bomb to go off are Trags, and so our heroes, even if they haven't seen eye to eye before, race to stop the thing from going off.
Of course, personal drama totally gets in the way. While Drake (Greg Finley) is seen asking Emery (Aimee Teegarden) for help smuggling the device, we also see Roman coldly quipping, "Didn't you hear? Emery's a Red Hawk now!"
This is, of course, in reference to the end of Episode 13: "Give Me a Torch," when Grayson (Gray Damon) suckers Emery into joining his new group of Red Hawks — not a terrorist, extremist group like his parents' Red Hawks, but a mild-mannered group of humans that seek to stop the Trags. We can see where the misunderstanding happened, though — if you're the son of a couple of bigoted extremists, you might not want to name your not-a-hate-group after their hate group. (Is it just us, or does Grayson kind of suck in general? We digress.)
Romery seems to at least get on okay terms at some point during the episode, and start working together to stop the Suvek. But Emery is, once again, put in jeopardy when a Hot Topic-looking Trag threatens to "put a hole in her head" unless Roman "calls off his friends."
