His hair may be luscious as ever on White Collar, but TV hunk Matt Bomer has debuted a buzz cut that still gets our engines revving. We’re not quite sure why the Texas-born actor decided to shave his gorgeous locks, but we do know we love this look.

Matt debuted the new ‘do yesterday, January 9, at HBO’s Winter Television Critics Association Tour in Pasadena, California. He was joined on-stage by his costars for the TV movie adaptation of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart. Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Jim Parsons, Taylor Kitsch, and director Ryan Murphy were in attendance.

The Normal Heart, which premiered on Broadway in 1985, tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early ‘80s.

The project is a special one for Matt, who recently came out as gay. "I read [The Normal Heart] in the closet of my drama room when I was 14-years-old, and the irony of that is not lost on me,” he said. “I grew up in the Bible Belt, and there was no talk of this."

We’re glad Matt is working on a project he feels so passionate about. We’re just as passionate about his gorgeous baby blues that are only intensified by his new buzz cut.

The Mighty Heart premieres on HBO in May.
