In our opinion, Nicholas Sparks should be sainted — not for his heartstring-tugging novels, but for the movies those novels get adapted into. From Ryan Gosling in his rain-soaked t-shirt to Channing Tatum struttin’ it on the beach, Sparks’s adaptations have introduced us to some of the hunkiest man meat moments in living memory.
Now, new babe on the scene Scott Eastwood is joining the ranks of men who will (hopefully) show us their abs in HD. Scott, the son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, has been tapped to play a role in the latest Sparks adaptation, The Longest Ride.
Scott first came on the scene in the 2006 film Flags of our Fathers, directed by, well, his father. Scott has been slowly gaining notoriety since his debut, appearing in Gran Torino, Invictus, and Trouble with the Curve. But his star really shot up, as did our blood pressure, when he started using his Instagram to post some yummy photos of himself online. Since then, the movie offers have been rolling in. Later this year he’ll appear in Fury with Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf.
Scott took to Instagram to announce the news of his new role with the caption, “Great book. Thanks Fox for this amazing opportunity!!” The story follows two romances: one between an elderly couple and one between a college senior and the cowboy she falls for. Scott, of course, will be the cowboy. Boy do we wish we were that college senior!
What do you think? Will you be first in line to see Scott’s new film?
