Back in December, The Taste star Nigella Lawson made national headlines when she admitted in court that she’d used drugs — cocaine and marijuana, to be specific. The celebrity chef has a had tough couple of months, between her acrimonious split from her ex-husband and issues of fraud with two former aides. But it looks like she’s finally got a win: She won’t be facing any further prosecution for her admission on the stand.

Police announced Monday that “no further action” will be taken against Nigella, as they fear further police action might deter other victims of crimes from being forthcoming with the courts and law enforcement. They say they consulted with prosecutors before making the decision to stop any further investigation.

Nigella originally admitted to her drug use in a trial against her former assistants, Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo. She accused the two of fraud and embezzlement, though the sisters claimed that Nigella promised them access to her bank account if they covered up her issues with drugs. Forced to respond to the accusations, the reality star admitted to doing drugs but added that her usage was never enough to warrant the use of the word “addiction.”

“I have never been a drug addict. I have never been a habitual user,” Nigella said when she took the stand. “There were two times in my life when I used cocaine.”

This drama comes on the heels of her difficult divorce from husband Charles Saatchi, after photos emerged of the millionaire grabbing her by the neck in public last June 2013. He was legally cautioned for assault, and Nigella later filed for divorce citing “unreasonable behavior.”

Hopefully only positive things will be ahead for Nigella in 2014. New year, new you, girl!
