We're guessing that the word "down" also describes the spirits of the Party Down South cast following their contract negotiations for Season 2.
The shindig-loving cast members of the CMT reality show had reportedly been waiting to sign on for a second season of CMT's highest-rated show ever. According to TMZ, the cast got paid just $500 apiece for each Season 1 episode, and so they were refusing to return to the show unless they each earned $7,500.
However, the cast members have denied that they were angling for a pay raise - and it's a good thing they weren't, since they didn't get one. Word has it that the network execs stuck to their guns and would not give the cast anything more than their initial salary of $500 per episode. Finally, the cast agreed to the terms, and so a second season will be underway shortly.
However, the network reportedly is promising to hike up the salaries if the show makes it to Season 3. We'll see if that actually happens. In the meantime, we hope they can stay out of trouble and not steal money out of any purses, as one of them did recently.
Do you think the cast deserves a pay raise?
