It’s hard to date when you’re a single parent, as we’ve heard countless times on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette — not to mention from our real life single parent pals. However, while there are a few contestants on Juan Pablo Galavis’s Season 18 of The Bachelor who have little ones, do you know how many leads have been single parents?
Wetpaint asked Viggle LIVE! users that very question during last night’s (January 6) Season 18 premiere episode of The Bachelor, and it seems like Bachelor Nation needs to brush on their facts. Only 37 percent of viewers got the question right! Meanwhile, nearly half of you remembered two leads with little loves, and 16% of you thought that Juan Pablo was the first!
Those 37 percent correctly guessed that three leads have had little ones waiting in the wings. And that includes the first one, Season 13’s Jason Mesnick, who had little Ty back home — and later regretted it. “I actually feel kind of stupid for putting my kid— kids — on reality TV,” Jason said to his wife, Molly Mesnick, during the June 25 episode of the couple’s This Is Reality Podcast.
On Season 8 of The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard lived at home in Charlotte, North Carolina, during much of the filming for her show so she could be close to daughter Ricki. As fans know, Emily lost her first fiancé — Ricki’s dad, Ricky Hendrick — only days before finding out she was pregnant with their daughter. She famously dismissed Kalon McMahon after he referred to Ricki as “baggage” to his fellow castmates.
Juan Pablo makes three: the 32-year-old Venezuela-raised Bachelor is father to nearly-five-year-old Camila Valentina, who was born on February 14, 2009. His ex is Carla Rodriguez, a gorgeous actress whom he dated until a couple years after Camila was born. While the two remain friends, JPG signed up to be “El Bachelor” to find a wife, step-mom for Camila, and mother to at least two more kids.
Follow Juan Pablo’s journey to love on the all-new season of The Bachelor on Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
