On Game of Thrones, Natalie Dormer portrays Margaery Tyrell, the presumptive Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Margaery has already been widowed twice, so she can’t be that young, yet her next husband hasn’t even hit puberty yet, so she can’t be that old either. So how old is Natalie?
Believe it or not, Natalie was born on February 11, 1982, which makes her 32 years old! She could easily pass for ten years younger, which is why she is so easily able to portray young Margaery, who is only 16 years old in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series upon which GoT is based. The show has a habit of aging up the characters from the books, and while they never say how old Margaery is, we can assume she’s at least a few years older than 16.
As far as Margaery’s husbands are concerned, their ages vary widely. Renly was by far the closest to her in years; actor Gethin Anthony was born on October 9, 1983, making him 30. Joffrey actor Jack Gleeson was next closest, but still 10 years younger than Natalie at a soon-to-be 22 years old (he was born May 20, 1992). And Margaery’s future beau, Tommen? His portrayer Dean-Charles Chapman came into this world on September 7, 1997, meaning he is only 16. At least he’d be a good match for book Margaery!
