On the May 18 episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, it was the guys' turn in the spotlight. In a special titled "Husbands Revealed," the Hotlanta men gathered round in an informal setting to discuss everything from their sex lives to the financial dynamics in their households.
As far as the money goes, Gregg Leakes pretty much steered clear of that conversation, but the rest of the guys piped in, as seen in this BravoTV clip.
Kandi Burruss's new husband, Todd Tucker, was the first to open up about the issue, when he talked about the fact that he went out of his budget to get Kandi a pair of earrings he couldn't afford, but still felt weird about wearing the gift she'd gotten him.
"My budget really wasn't there, but I did what I had to and I got those earrings for her," he explained, before going into the details of a super pricey gold Rolex watch Kandi bought for him. Apparently, Todd felt like he needed to up his income before he put it out there that his wife was "taking care of him."
Meanwhile, Apollo Nida was heartbroken when Phaedra Parks didn't care for a car that he surprised her with. When Peter asked him why she didn't like the car he chose, Apollo responded, "I think because Apollo Nida bought it."
Cynthia Bailey's man, Peter Thomas, seemed to be the only one that didn’t really care that his wife might make more money than him. What's more, Peter encouraged the other guys to be more confident, pointing out that both Phaedra and Kandi chose them for who they are, not their wallets.
Do you think Todd and Apollo need to accept that their wives are more successful than them? Sound off below!
