Ian Harding’s new film Bethlehem is in the pre-production process of scouting out locations in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Part of this process is convincing the town and its residents to allow filming within its limits. Earlier this week, the Pretty Little Liars actor did his part to make an argument for the film. What did Ian have to say?

The Bethlehem cast and crew sat down with the Bethlehem mayor’s office earlier this week to talk filming details, and though Ian couldn’t be there, he made a video, addressing the city officials on why having Bethlehem filmed in Bethlehem would be a good idea: “We’d really like to make you guys part of this picture because I think it’s going to be a really fun one,” Ian said, describing the coming-of-age tale about family, the closing of Bethlehem Steel, and high school football as “classic and modern at the same time.”

Ian went on to praise the state, which he spent time in as a student at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University (and, might we add, fictionally as a PLL cast member): “Hopefully, I get to meet you all soon and come back to Pennsylvania, which I miss… It’s a great one, and hopefully, I get to visit Bethlehem soon,” said Ian.

It seems that Ian and the rest of the Bethlehem gang is convincing (who can argue with that face?), as the Bethlehem Facebook page posted this update earlier this week: “Thank you to the entire community for welcoming the production this weekend. Very excited to get back and start filming. You should be very proud of where you call home and Bethlehem is proud to honor a piece of that. See you all soon!”
