In a video interview with Entertainment Wise, Ian explained that being on a show is kind of like being “married” to the cast. It’s a big, close knit family (especially after shooting 89 episodes together), but every once in awhile you need a break. Or as Ian put it: “Lovers need space in their togetherness.” That’s what the summer’s for. Much of the cast has been off pursuing other projects, but Season 5 of TVD goes into production today.
After spending the summer filming The Anomaly in London, Ian said he’s "definitely looking forward to going back and seeing my Vampire Diaries family." Aww, that’s sweet! And it might be the closest we ever get to seeing Ian and Nina tie the knot.
We loved seeing Ian looking sharp in a crisp button-up shirt and tie, but we can’t wait to see him rock Damon’s leather jackets and tight jeans in Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries.
