Sexy vampire Damon Salvatore has spent his fair share of Season 5 flouncing around the Salvatore house naked, and Ian Somerhalder has been using it to his advantage. What did he tell Larry King Now was his funniest moment on the Vampire Diaries set this season, and what does it have to do with all of this nakedness?

When asked what was “the funniest moment” he’s had all season, Ian replied: “I’m naked a lot, and I really like to mess with the crew. Cause, you know, they’re these tough, southern, Atlanta guys. They’re my brothers. They’re my brothers and my sisters and when I get out of bed or walk around: 'Hey, brother! How are you?' 'Get away from me, Ian.' You know, it’s pretty funny.” Ha! Yeah, we’re guessing being naked in front of an entire crew is less sexy than it appears when shown on the TVD screen. Though, it sounds like Ian is using the possible awkwardness to his advantage. You gotta love his confidence!

This isn’t the first season Ian has had to be naked on the TVD set, nor — believe it or not — the first time he’s used a filming naked to pull a practical joke. In Season 3, Ian shocked co-star Nina Dobrev (Elena) with a naked prank involving elephant ears. We’ll let Ian fill you in on the details...

“Well, you know, you open up the cover page of Season 3, Episode 1, and it’s, like, the first half a page, Damon’s already naked,” Ian told Entertainment Weekly. “So I’d spent almost two days on set completely naked, which is kinda awesome, because as if I wasn’t close enough to our crew members, I feel really close after that. So our first AD Rudy, at like 8 o’clock in the morning, came up to me and says, ‘Hey listen, I have an idea.’ When Rudy has an idea, it’s usually pretty good. It was that I should go to the prop master, another genius part of our show, and have them make some elephant ears. The first thing we see is Nina’s reaction, so what if I was completely naked and we had elephant ears and double-stick tape, and I put them on each of my thighs, and ultimately, she would be staring at a very small, young elephant. The reaction that we got was f—ing amazing. I hope and pray that that is what we used in the edit because it was such a natural ‘Ohmygod!’ reaction.”
