Britney Spears is “In Love” With Boyfriend David Lucado

This year is almost over and it’s been a rocky one for romance for Britney Spears. In January, she announced she was breaking off her engagement to Jason Trawick, but it didn’t take long for her to find someone new.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brit revealed the details of the new loves in her life — boyfriend David Lucado and her upcoming album, Britney Jean.

“I’m in love,” Britney said, obviously not mincing words when it comes to David. “I like the fact that he's very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways. He's just a simple man. I adore him. He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about, and it's contagious."

He even passed a background check Britney’s dad, Jamie, ran on him. Yes, the next time you think your parents are giving your newest significant other the third degree, remember, it could always be worse.

And where her new album’s concerned? Recording it wasn’t always a walk in the park, but for Britney, it’s been nothing short of cathartic.

“I would say it was kind of like therapy for me," Britney said. "It just kind of transformed me. As you write something, your perspective changes. So it was like my 'good therapy record.' I'm an artist, so I think there are periods in everyone's life where you get kind of reclusive, your creative outlet is cut off. Then sometimes it flows and you're like, 'Oh my God, this is what I need to be doing,' [which makes] it easier for you to be the artist that you want to be."

Still can’t get enough Britney? Britney Jean is out December 3, and the full interview with Entertainment Tonight airs tonight at 7 ET!
