Is American Idol New Tonight, April 10, 2013?

With the summer TV season coming in hot, you might be asking yourself, “Is American Idol new tonight?” Not only is it new, but it is sure to be an unforgettable episode. The Top Six performance show has two themes–one is “Songs I Wish I’d Written,” while the other is rumored to be “Songs From the Bacharach/David Songbook”.

Spoilers were hitting the interwebs like crazy yesterday and, if the song choices we uncovered are true, we are in store for some stellar performances this evening. Some of the rumored picks we think will be amazing are Candice Glover taking on The Cure’s “Love Song” as performed by Adele. Usually, this girl has an old school vibe, but we can’t wait to hear her take on this one. Janelle Arthur is reportedly singing Garth Brooks’ “The Dance,” and we imagine she’ll pull out her guitar for this one. We get chills just thinking about it. Angie Miller is said to be performing Burt Bacharach’s “Anyone Who Had A Heart,” and “Love Came Down” by Kari Jobe. Both could easily give her those “moments” the American Idol judges always look for, and we think she could easily win the night with these. The judges and viewers alike have been waiting for her to shine like she did while performing her original number, "You Set Me Free," and we think this might be the night she rekindles that flame.

Other weeks, some of these folks have struggled to choose songs that suit their voices perfectly, but we really think we’re in for something special for Wednesday’s two-hour performance show. Make sure to tune in tonight on FOX (8 p.m.-10 p.m. ET)!
