Sources told People magazine last week that Courtney “is in talks with Dancing with the Stars producers and that it's possible she could make an appearance on the March 19 season premiere.” When People asked a DWTS rep about the rumor, the rep replied, "We do not comment on casting rumors. You'll have to tune in Monday and see."
As People noted, Courtney would not be the first contestant to fill in if, let’s say, one of the DWTS cast members were to drop out due to injury. Melissa Rycroft went from being dumped by Bachelor Jason Mesnick to filling in for the injured Nancy O’Dell and making it to third place with Tony Dovolani on DWTS Season 8.
The fact that People has this rumor gives it some legitimacy, although it’s possible Courtney could just show up in the audience on the premiere and not actually do any dancing. Who knows. Maybe this is all just a ploy for premiere night ratings, since both Bachelor 16 and DWTS Season 13 suffered from not-so-stellar ratings and could use an OMG boost. But Season 14 also does need a “controversial” contestant!
