She may not share their last name, but as the half-sister of celebrity siblings Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, 17-year-old Kendall Jenner is a Kardashian, as far as reality TV fans are concerned. The teen has practically grown up on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but in a recent interview she admitted that she doesn’t want to be seen on the show all that much. What gives? Is Kendall a little embarrassed by her fame-loving family?
“I don't know any different," she said told the New York Times of life in the TV limelight. "[But] I don't want to be a big part of the show. Neither does my little sister [Kylie], only because we want for a little while to keep our somewhat normal lives."
We hate to say it, Kendall, but we think that whole “normal life” ship has sailed. You come from a famous family and your privacy is invaded on the daily, and we get that that sucks.
Yes, it’s probably hard to deal with the thought (or tabloid criticism) that you’re only being hired because of your family name, instead of natural talent. But, them’s the breaks, and you can always call up Suri Cruise in 10 years and swap war stories. In the meantime, go be a successful model! Things aren’t so bad.
Don’t worry, we’re only half-serious here, and Kendall totally acknowledges the bonuses of her unusual upbringing. “It’s fun,” she said. “There’s so many just crazy opportunities. That’s the upside.”
Crazy opportunities, like launching a fashion line and writing a young adult book that will absolutely get published! Things could be worse.
