Over the course of Pretty Little LiarsSeason 4, Mona (Janel Parrish) worked hard to prove that the Liars could trust her, going as far as trying to take the fall for Wilden's murder. In the summer finale (Season 4, Episode 12: “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t”) it looked like "A" was targeting Mona, which seemed like further proof that she really isn't on the "A" team anymore — right until Toby discovered she was sitting safe and sound in a nice bed and breakfast. So, what's the deal? Is Mona really working with "A"?
We're actually not convinced Mona is connected to the current Big "A" (AKA Ezra, or so it would appear). While she did conveniently disappear right when "A" needed her to, we don't think that necessarily means they're working together. After all, Mona could have gone to the B&B for her own reasons, and then Ezra could have decided to use that turn of events to his advantage. "A" is good at that.
The fact that Shana met with Mona actually just makes us believe more strongly that Mona isn't aligned with Big "A", since right now we like the theory that Shana, Melissa, Jenna, and possibly Wren are on a separate team with their own agenda. Our guess is that Mona is a totally free agent with her own plan, and not just Ezra's pawn.
Do you agree, or do you think Mona is clearly working hand in hand with Ezra these days? Sound off in the comments below!
