Lea Michele (Rachel) stopped by 95.5 PLJ’s The Todd Show earlier this week to chat about Brunette Ambition. Though she talked plenty about her first book, the part that really held our interest was when host Todd asked about those persistent rumors that she’ll be playing Elphaba in a movie adaptation of the Broadway mega-hit Wicked.
Lea didn’t exactly answer the question per se (she’s far too savvy for that!) but she made it clear that she would love to tackle the iconic role should she get the opportunity to do so. “I may paint myself green and start walking down the street to campaign, so if you see me, I have not gone crazy,” she said with a laugh.
And apparently Lea’s been reading the same reports we have, because she brought up chatter that a certain adorable boy bander is rumored to also be involved in the film adaptation of Wicked. “I heard an even better rumor that they would like Harry Styles to be in that movie as well,” she dished, before quickly clarifying, “But not as Elphaba!”
As a Broadway baby and a self-professed huge One Direction fan this Wicked news pretty much sounds like a dream come true for Lea, although nothing has been officially announced yet. “That would be so awesome,” she concluded.
Also on deck for Lea is the sixth and final season of Glee, which we won’t get to see until the start of 2015. “I do know what’s gonna happen,” she revealed, though she was careful about not divulging anything else.
