The wait for a new episode of The Walking Dead continues, though we get closer to the Season 5 premiere of TWD with each passing day. Just think about it this way: The Season 4 finale aired nearly three months ago, and the once six-month hiatus has already been reduced to a more manageable four months and counting.
Plus, the cast has been back on set for more than six weeks now, so at least we’re getting new info every now and then, like this first shot of Season 5, which shows Rick opening the Terminus train car. We even have some more solid info about the Season 5 premiere, which director Greg Nicotero said has the scope of an “entire movie.” If you need to catch up on TWD and want even more info about Season 5, then don’t forget about the “Dead, White, and Blue Marathon” over July 4 weekend.
So while it may be a Sunday, we regret to inform you that the AMC hit concluded its fourth season several weeks ago so there’ll be no new episode on June 22. Instead, let us recall the heart-stopping season finale of Sunday, March 30.
Here’s the Reader’s Digest version of that episode: Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was confronted by Joe (Jeff Kober) and his band of misfits, who threatened to rape and kill Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs). That didn’t sit well with Papa G so he went all primal and bit Joe’s neck, killing him instantly. Then Rick, Carl, Michonne (Danai Gurira), and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) got to Terminus but soon realized something was up. After a tense standoff, the foursome was herded into a train car marked “A” where they were reunited with Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson), Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz), Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan). Rick’s hopeful last words were, “They screwed with the wrong people.”
Now for some good and bad news. The bad news: Season 5 of the hit show isn’t scheduled to debut until October 2014. We don’t have a specific date to give you just yet, but based on the schedule from years past, our money is on Sunday, October 14, for TWD’s long-awaited Season 5 start.
But wait, we promised you some good news, right? The good news is that while we might have several months to wait before we can catch a brand-new hour of TWD, we already have tons of scoop on Season 5.
