Is Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s Reality Show Fake? (VIDEO)
The drama between Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott was certainly gripping in Lifetime’s True Tori, but was it all real? Throughout its first season, the reality show had a lot of viewers questioning whether the former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress and her husband were playing up their tears and tantrums for the cameras. But the couple insists that it’s all the real deal.
On the May 3 reunion episode, the host put Tori and Dean on the spot about the rumors, pointing out the common viewer claim that Dean’s outbursts were all for the cameras — a point he vehemently denies.
“They’re wrong,” Dean says. “I wouldn’t be anything but truthful. All those reactions, they were all real and honest.”
Another issue the audience had taken was with the suspicious timing of Dean’s supposed two-day affair in Canada late last year. Many saw the increased press around the pair and the eventual reality series as being all too convenient. But Tori has an answer for that, as well.
“I wish it hadn’t have happened,” the mother of four insists, adding, “I don’t know who would fake something to have this happen to their life. My family is in complete, and still is in complete, devastation over this. I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone.”
We’ll give her that — no one sane would want to enter into a situation like that, even if it did bring the publicity. So either these two are losing their grasp on reality, or they’re being completely honest. Whatever the case, we hope they can pull it together for their kids.
