Isaiah Washington’s Chilling New Film, Blue Caprice, Gets First Trailer (VIDEO)

Isaiah Washington's latest role is a far cry from Dr. Preston Burke.

The former Grey's Anatomy actor, now 50, stars in Blue Caprice, a cinematic retelling of the real-life Beltway sniper attacks — a series of shootings that plagued Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia in October 2002.

The shooters were discovered to be a 41-year-old named John Allen Muhammad and a 17-year-old named Lee Boyd Malvo. After three weeks and ten killings, the two were arrested in the blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice that they used as cover during the snipings. Muhammad was sentenced to death and executed in 2009. Malvo is serving life in prison.

In the film, Isaiah portrays Muhammad, opposite Everyone Hates Chris's Tequan Richmond, who plays Malvo.

"They think all this is permanent," Isaiah says in a scene shown in the trailer. "They don't realize the house of cards they're living in. All it will take is a little push. A few bodies — more than few bodies — random targets. Total chaos."

The film has gotten high praise so far, The New York Times calling it "a smart exploration of power and madness."

"Isaiah Washington gives a searing, intense performance," proclaims the Los Angeles Times.

Looks like this is a challenging but perhaps influential movie to watch. What do you think, Grey'sfans? Will you check it out? Or is the subject matter to dark to stomach?
