Grey’s Anatomy’s Isaiah Washington Getting Gray Hairs From New Role on The CW’s The 100

Isaiah Washington (Preston Burke) may be returning to Grey’s Anatomy to say goodbye to Cristina (Sandra Oh), but before that? He’s taking on the role of a space station commander named Chancellor Jaha on The CW’s “The 100,” a role that Isaiah says is already turning his hair gray.

So what’s “The 100” about? Part retelling of “Noah’s Ark,” part Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. Isaiah’s character is in charge of a space station carrying the only 4,000 humans left alive — and it’s kind of an emergency, considering the fact that they’re running out of resources. Understandably a stressful situation, and he’s not actually that character, Isaiah is stressed out about it as well.

“I have new gray hair, although The CW doesn’t want them to be on the show. I’m really taking this stress on, like for real,” Isaiah told Access Hollywood. “My biggest fear is not being credible in anything I do that you guys don’t believe me … But if you don’t know what I’m doing, then that’s my biggest fear.”

Isaiah doesn’t really have anything to worry about there, though — he was totally believable as a super focused, crazy driven cardio surgeon on Grey’s, so we have no doubt he can pull this role off, too.

“Leaders are not allowed to cry outside, so… I’ve discovered quickly [that with] this character, it’s all inside, literally,” Isaiah added. “I just hope I don’t actually come out with an ulcer.”

So do we!

Looking forward to seeing Isaiah in his new show? Let us know if you plan on watching below!
