J. Edgar, Jack and Jill, London Boulevard: Wetpaint Entertainment’s Sexy-Not Sexy Weekend Movie Guide, 11/11
Woo-hoo, the weekend's here! Thinking about hitting the movies? Here's the scoop on three flicks opening Friday, November 11.
This Hollywood biopic delves into the public and private life of J. Edgar Hoover, one of the most charismatic figures of the 20th century. Leo Dicaprio takes on the role of the FBI head honcho, alongside a star-studded cast, including Naomi Watts, Dame Judi Dench, and Ed Westwick of Gossip Girl. Sexy: Leo as young J. Edgar Not sexy: Leo as old J. Edgar Verdict: According to reviews, the best thing about this film is Leo's acting, and he's pretty much the only reason we're going to go see it anyway, so it's a win-win. Grab your guy and have a fun and educational date night.
Jack and Jill
If you think this is another goofball Adam Sandler comedy, well, you're absolutely right. The funny guy plays Jack, a successful Los Angeles ad-man with a gorgeous wife (Katie Holmes) and angelic kids, who also happens to have an identical twin sister named Jill (also played by Sandler) who drives him insane during her annual Thanksgiving visits. Al Pacino also stars! Sexy: Katie Holmes with long hair Not sexy: Adam Sandler with long hair Verdict: No doubt, it doesn't get much sillier than this, but if Al Pacino was willing to appear as himself, it can't be that bad, right? (Then again, Robert De Niro did do Little Fockers.) Anyway, round up your guy friends and have a good laugh.
This sexy gangster tale is about an ex-con (Colin Farrell) who's trying to start anew in a flowering relationship with a reclusive actress (Keira Knightley). Unfortunately, one of London's scariest crime bosses is getting in the way of all the romance. Sexy: Hot chemistry between Colin and Keira Not sexy: Crime thugs Verdict: The critics are giving this one some pretty mixed reviews, but Colin is way hot here (unlike his character in Horrible Bosses), so this could be a fun choice for ladies' night.
