The Voice’s Jamar Rogers Hospitalized in Intensive Care — Breaking
It’s time to center your thoughts and positive vibes on former Voice contestant Jamar Rogers. The Season 2 Team Cee Lo Green semi-finalist was hospitalized in intensive care this week, according to a press release on his website.
Jamar went to the hospital for treatment for a lung infection. In Season 2, we learned that Jamar was an immensely talented singer who overcame drug addiction to meth and in 2006 was diagnosed as HIV positive.
Despite his many adversities, Jamar remained one of the mostupbeat contestants we’ve ever seen on the show. He’s never without a smile and constantly refers to his fans as his “family.”
According to the press release, Jamar was in critical condition on Monday and has been contacted by friend and family, including his former coach Cee Lo Green.
Jamar was definitely a fan favorite in Season 2, narrowly losing out to Juliet Simms who went on to place second. He’s continued to perform and release music, including his debut single, “High,” which is available on iTunes.
The 31-year-old singer just signed with Tommy Boy Entertainment and finished filming a music video for his upcoming single, “Drink of You,” which will be released on October 8.
Our thoughts go out to Jamar and his family during this difficult time. Stay tuned to Wetpaint Entertainment for updates on the singer’s condition.
