Fifty Shades of Grey’s Jamie Dornan Not Shocked by the Graphic Sex: “It Works for Me”
We're not saying that Charlie Hunnam, the original choice for Christian Grey in the upcoming film adaptation of erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey, was squeamish at all about the content — but now we know that his replacement, Jamie Dornan, isn't fazed at all by the X-rated subject matter.
"I'm a fairly worldly guy," Jamie reveals in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not shocked by [the sex in the book]. It's essential to tell the story. I can't believe films that don't invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me."
In fact, it sounds like the 31-year-old Irishman got over any apprehension about playing the kinky billionaire pretty quickly. "There was a slight fear. But beyond anything else, I was really f—king excited."
As are we, Jamie. As are we. We've spent the three weeks since your casting announcement looking lecherously at all your revealing Calvin Klein ads to get a good approximation of how you'd look… OK, we'll just stop right there.
Guess we'll all get to see just how comfortable Jamie is when the film hits theaters on February 13, 2015!
