UPDATE (1/10/17 at 07:37 a.m. ET):

Jamie Foxx is responding to fans after his reported fight at the Catch restaurant in West Hollywood on Saturday, January 7 went viral.

"F—k. The word is out, man. I know y'all heard about this s—t and saw some videos. I just want to address what happened on Saturday from my perspective,” he says on Instagram with a towel over his eye.

"All I was trying to do was keep my eye on things, " he says while crossing his eyes.

"I'm just f—king with y'all, man. Everybody's good. 2017, we don't want no violence. We don't want to get hurt and we don't want nobody hurt.”

Original Story (1/09/17 at 6:02 p.m. ET):

Jamie Foxx was attacked after a night on the town with some of his close friends over the weekend.

The Academy Award-winning actor got into a physical altercation on Saturday, January 7 at the Catch restaurant in West Hollywood and the details aren’t pretty.

While the 49-year-old and his friends were sitting outside in the patio area, a gentlemen came up to the group and said they were being too loud, sources tell TMZ.

This is where things start to get dicey.

According to a witness, the man who approached Katie Holmes’s rumored boyfriend and his group shouted, “You don't want to mess with me. I'm from New York.”

A man at the singer’s table yelled back, “F—k you, I’m from Oakland.”

Now that we know it’s East Coast vs. West Coast, we can get back to the actual fight.

Witnesses then said the aggressive man from New York lunged at the father of two and some claim he made contact with the Ray star, though the facts are uncertain.

Jamie then apparently grabbed the aggressor, put him in a chokehold, and took him to the ground.

Both parties were kicked out of the restaurant, though it sounds like the guy from New York was the instigator.

And, just to make this story even more random, it turns out Cuba Gooding Jr., Michael Bay, Nicole Murphy, and Jerry Bruckheimer were all in attendance for the brawl.

Do you think Jamie and his friends deserved to get kicked out of the restaurant? Tell us below.
