Britney Spears Conservatorship to Continue, Dad Jamie Requests More Money
Britney Spears is kind of a big deal, and apparently so is managing her life. Since 2008, her dad Jamie Spears has been her court-appointed conservator, meaning he has oversight over Brit’s financial and legal affairs. Well, Jamie is currently hoping to ensure that he can continue to collect his (well-earned) salary as Britney prepares to begin her Las Vegas residency, according to E! News. To that end, he has filed a motion with the court to continue running Brit’s life. However, it sounds like he’s asking for a little more.
Jamie Spears is currently paid to the tune of $16,000 a month, which is probably fair given that Britney’s worth over $200 million. That said, what more could papa want, after pulling in almost $200k a year? Rent money. Jamie has requested that Brit’s estate cover the cost of his rented office, which is a fairly modest $1,200 a month. However, Jamie isn’t the only person seeking a slightly bigger slice of the pie. Britney’s lawyers are also asking for more moolah.
“From Nov 3, 2012 to Aug. 31, 2013 (ten months total), one of the conservatorship attorneys Andrew Wallet claims that he racked $151,427.50 in fees and $1,426.51 in costs for which he says he was only paid half. He is currently seeking the other half,” E! reports.
That’s a lot of money, but it sounds like Britney’s good for it. We guess Jamie’s done a good job taking care of business these past five years!
