Jay Z and Solange Finally Address Elevator Fight in Joint Statement (VIDEO)
Days after footage leaked depicting what appeared to be a physical fight between Jay Z and Beyoncé’s sister, Solange Knowles, during a Met Ball after-party on May 5, the famous in-laws have finally issued a statement addressing the incident. So who’s to blame for the kerfuffle? Both of them, it seems.
“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred,” the joint statement reads. “The both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
That’s a relief. We hate it when families fight, especially ones as close as this one seems. One sentence in particular pretty much sums it up: “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different.”
Though there aren’t any details about what caused the fight (and, honestly, they’re under absolutely no obligation to air their private family issues) the statement also shoots down any and all rumors that Solange was “intoxicated of displaying erratic behavior” on the evening in question.
"We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same," the statement concludes
Are you satisfied by this response from Jay Z and Solange, or are you still dying to know what happened? Don’t worry, we’re not judging.
