Jenna Dewan Tatum and husband Channing may have only been parents for 9 months so far, but they’re already in love with being Mom and Dad to their daughter, Everly, who’s already starting to walk and talk. And for Jenna, surprisingly enough, having a baby has been a huge stress reliever.
“It’s been a great perspective change,” Jenna told Us Weekly. “The things that used to maybe worry [me]... [were] replaced by just caring and being there for this little baby.”
And now that Jenna’s time is so precious, she’s forced to be a little pickier about which projects she chooses to accept, although Everly does go everywhere with her while she’s working, including making a daily appearance on the set of The Witches of East End.
As for Channing’s daddy experience so far? He’s loving it, and it’s only made him and Jenna become closer. “You have to be on the same page with everything when it comes to making decisions,” Jenna said. “It’s just like everything else. You give it like, ‘Okay, I have this luncheon today, so you watch Everly and I have this dinner.’ You just become way better at planning!”
But even though chasing after Everly takes up a good bit of their time, Jenna and Channing haven’t forgotten to keep the romance alive in their relationship, although it does require a bit more shuffling than it did in their pre-baby lives.
“We make sure we get good date nights,” Jenna said. “You’ve got to get out and be around adults and not be speaking in a baby voice all day long — just for your own sanity!”
