If it’s not scary enough putting your relationship on TV for the world to see, imagine if you’d just found out you were pregnant for the first time! Oh, and you can’t let anyone find out. Sound terrifying? Well, that’s just what happened for former Jersey Shore star Jenni “JWOWW” Farley and fiancé Roger Mathews when they signed on for WE tv’s new reality series, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the expectant couple — Jenni’s due in July! — at the May 29 premiere of the relationship-building show at Catch Rooftop in NYC. The two dished on hiding their big secret, how they’re feeling now about having a daughter, and Jenni’s recent frostbite incident — don’t worry she’s okay!

Wetpaint Entertainment: You look great! How are you holding up in these final weeks?

Jenni “JWOWW” Farley: I hate every second of it. My back’s been killing me, so I tried to ice my back and not take medication, and I actually gave myself frostbite on my back! Severe frostbite from ice packs that I’ve used thousands of times before but I’m so hypersensitive that I didn’t realize it.

Roger Mathews: I thought she was being kind of whiney, until she picked her shirt up!

Oh no! Glad you’re okay now. You two always seem so great together. What made you decide to do a show like this?

JF: He was kicking and screaming in the beginning.

RM: I have to be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of doing TV because I’m 10 years older than Jenni, and our personalities — I’m a much more private guy. But I have to pay respect to the fact that I met Jenni doing this. So it is sort of a package deal at this point. I think what made us do the Marriage Boot Camp is that we thought it was a real chance of getting real help. And we did, we absolutely did.

How did the filming of the show coincide with the pregnancy?

JF: The same week that we left for Marriage Boot Camp is the week that we found out that we were pregnant, and I was like, ‘oh s—t, I don’t think we can do this.’ None of our friends and family knew. Then, on top of that, we don’t know if it’s going to be a physical show or an emotionally-based show, so I was scared.

RM: She was having morning sickness so the constant signs were there, and we knew people would be guessing because we used the term ‘medical condition’ more than once to get out of things Jenni wasn’t comfortable with. You’re really not supposed to tell people anyway in the first trimester, so I think our biggest fear was that it might somehow get leaked or our parents would find out.

JF: I was not drinking like everyone else. If you could see the looks from people, like, ‘This is Jenni from the Jersey Shore?!’ and I’m like, ‘No champagne for me tonight, thank you!’

Nicole was a little hesitant when she found out she was having a girl, but since you’re having one as well, were you more excited?

JF: We were the same. I always envisioned having a boy first, I handle boys better than girls. I was a teenage girl once, I know what it’s like to be crazy — I’m still crazy! So I’m nervous for that, and I think Nicole’s nervous for that, too.

RM: I think we were both hoping for a boy at first — honestly, as long as the baby’s healthy, that’s all that matters — but I’m the last male in my family that can carry on the family name. But we have so embraced it since then. I can not wait to have a daughter.

What are you looking forward to the most after this pregnancy?

JF: Tequila!

RM: I know this one’s looking forward to a drink, for sure. I’m honestly looking forward to staying home — even if it’s for a weekend and she wants to get away to Atlantic City — and taking care of our daughter. Come on, the woman bears the brunt of this for nine months, I think the dad can stay at home with the baby for a weekend and let mom have a girls’ night out. I’m actually looking forward to that and seeing if I can handle that task. It’s a lot of poopy diapers in a weekend…

Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars premieres tonight, May 30, at 9 p.m. ET on WE tv.
