For most people, dating is a relatively enjoyable social activity — you get to meet new people, sometimes you fall in love, and, at the very least, you have an excuse to get dressed up and go out to dinner.
Former 90210 star Jennie Garth would rather sit the whole experience out. The mom of three, 41, who split from Twilight star Peter Facinelli in 2012 after 11 years of marriage, tells Bethenny Frankel on Monday’s episode of Bethenny (via E! Online), that trying to get back in the dating game after ending a long-term relationship is not exactly her cup of tea.
"It's fun and it's awful all at the same time," says Jennie. "It's like a weird type of torture, but it can be fun."
While Jennie may not be enjoying the dating scene, she’s not giving up on the idea that the right guy could be out there — and her standards are far from impossibly high.
"I look for somebody that shares an energy," she says. "It doesn't matter what the person looks like or what they really do. There has to be that first and foremost, that zing. That thing."
However, her focus remains parenting her three daughters to the best of her ability, something she describes as “super challenging” to do on her own.
"I've had to go through a lot. You have to find your way and stumble and make mistakes," she admits. "I think that's the only way you learn how to do it is by making mistakes, unfortunately. I expected to come out of it and just be great at it."
