Jennifer Love Hewitt Talks Losing Baby Weight: “The Baby’s Most Important” (VIDEO)
For a lot of new moms, lacing up their sneakers and sweating off that baby weight goes hand in hand with learning how to diaper their new bundle of joy and getting used to those 3 a.m. feedings. But for Jennifer Love Hewitt, who welcomed a baby girl, Autumn James Hallisay, in November, dropping those extra pounds is not number one on her to do list.
“It’s really hard,” the 35-year-old mom told E! Online at the launch of her new maternity line for A Pea in The Pod, L by Jennifer Love Hewitt. “It just feels great to be sort of honest about the fact that it is tough and these clothes make it a little easier, make me feel beautiful. I’m still in a lot of my pregnancy clothes and there is just where I feel good right now. Everything hasn’t returned back to where I want it to be and put on my other clothes and feel good about that.”
Besides, Jennifer says, she’s got bigger issues on her mind than looking good for the sake of her own vanity. Right now, her baby staying healthy is her main concern.
“If your priorities are right, the baby’s most important,” Jennifer said. “You have to eat to feed your baby.”
And when she does lose the weight, she wants to make sure she does it the right way so she can teach her daughter good habits in the future.
“I want her to see someday why her mom has good self-esteem and good body issues,” Jennifer added. “It gets you down sometimes, I’m not going to lie. I’ve had days where I’m like, ‘Ugh, I was this was easier.’ But it’s not, and that’s okay.”
